Winter season and seasons past
Oh how I enjoy every single season of the year. Maybe because I live in Southern California and our winters are so mild, but cold nights are still cold nights. I love the simple joy I feel, when I light up the fireplace before my husband gets home from work. He steps into a cozy warm home after a long day at the office. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been a stay at home mom for nearly 24 years now, with little part time jobs here and there; but for the most part I’ve always been home. After our first child I found it very hard to be away from her, and at that time we were blessed when my husband was hired by a great company, that would afford us the luxury of myself being home to raise our three kids. Although, Luxury is just in saying. There is nothing luxurious about being a stay at home mom, at least for me it wasn’t. I look back on many years of jogging pants and tshirts, hair in a ponytail and always feeling drained at the end of the day. But none the less I wouldn’t change a thing. My mind and heart are filled with so many memories from my children being children. Many winters, spring and summers spent at home, and I still love my home and every season in it. Happiness starts with Gratitude, and today I am grateful for what I’ve lived so far and for this home that has given us shelter all these years.
